Meta has begun rolling out updates that will enhance Facebook video.
Social networking platforms have:
- New editing tools have been introduced.
- Explore video redesigned.
- Simpler video tab.
- Engagement opportunities are increased.
Why do we care? Facebook is now a single-stop shop for Instagram and Facebook reels. It’s great news for Instagram marketers who want to advertise their campaigns. They can now reach a larger audience on Facebook, even if their profile is not active. Facebook users can now discover more content with the new, simplified design. This is a great opportunity for brands.
New video editing capabilities. Meta has added Reels editing tools for Feed videos in order to create dynamic content. The new tools include the following:
- Seamless Editing If you are using the Meta Business Suite you will have access to audio, music, and text editing tools that you already find in Reels. These tools allow you to layer and time your creative elements easier, which could result in a better-quality final product.
- More editing tools You can now speed up, reverse, or replace clips.
- Enhanced Audio You can now experiment with sound more, adding music, audio clips, and recording voiceovers.
- HDR Access You can now upload HDR video from your phone to Reels. Now, the clips can be viewed in HDR.
Simpler navigation. Facebook wants to make video content more accessible and has made a series of changes including new features and design modifications.
- Video tab: Users can now access videos ranging from Reels, Live content and long-form video on the video tab.
- Recommended reels highlighted: Facebook will serve a new horizontal reels tab in the Video tab that highlights recommended reels.
- New layout : The Video tab will appear soon in the shortcut menu (although the tabs on the shortcut bar are updated according to what features users use the most).
Improved user experience and discovery. Facebook has also made it easier for users to find videos on popular topics and trends, by redesigning Video Explore. By combining human curation with machine learning, the platform serves content that it believes users will find appealing and enjoy.
More engagement opportunities. Instagram Reels will be available on Facebook to help brands reach more people. People can also comment on these clips, without switching between apps.
