agram launches subscriptions in 10 new countries
Instagram is expanding its subscription service outside of the U.S. in the next few weeks.
The social network has announced that it will roll out the feature in 10 additional countries including:
- Australia
- Brazil
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Japan
- Mexico
- Spain
- United Kingdom
Instagram will continue to extend access to this feature worldwide over the next several months. This will enable content creators to earn more from their followers.
Why do we care. Brands and influencers are able to develop stronger connections with their most loyal followers through paid subscription services. This could lead to more conversions and higher ROI. It’s also a way for individuals and brands to increase their monthly income by offering subscribers exclusive content.
How does it work. Influencers and brands are free to choose their own price per month. Fans unlock the Subscription button in return for this monthly fee. Unlocking the door gives them access to a variety of benefits, including:
- Subscriber Stories, Posts and Reels: In addition to posting content on their main channel creators can also share bonus material, such as reels, stories and posts, that is only available to paying subscribers.
- Subscriber highlights: All new content shared by a creator is automatically saved in a highlight visible only to subscribers. Subscribers can easily stay up to date.
- Subscriber broadcast and social channels: Fee paying followers can be granted exclusive access to information or broadcasts in subscriber only channels.
- Subscribing Badges: When subscribers comment on posts they will be identified by badges. This allows content creators to prioritize these accounts.
