Artificial Intelligence is a major attraction for SMB martech buyers. According to a recent study, 70% of respondents said they would pay more for marketing platforms that offered AI or automation tools.

According to a survey of 500 SMBs by Constant Contact, an online marketing and sales firm, and Ascend2, only 26% had AI or automation technology.

Big interest. 3 quarters of SMBs (74%) are interested in AI or automation. 55% say their interest has increased over the past six months. 46 percent of SMB marketers admit that they have only a basic understanding of the benefits of this technology.

  • Ad targeting (38%)
  • Analyse (35%)
  • Website forms (34%)
  • CRM (30%)

It’s worth the investment. AI/automation is a time-saver for companies.

  • 60% of SMBs who use AI and automation for their marketing have reported that they are saving time and working more efficiently.
  • AII and automation has been estimated to have saved 33% of SMBs more than 40 minutes a week in marketing.

SMBs’ top concerns about AI and automation include data security, perceived costs and the learning curve.

Why do we care? AI in marketing is implemented to improve ROI and save time. More than half of the SMBs surveyed (58%) said they expected to save more than $1,000 on their AI investments in the coming year. 28% said they would save $5,000 or higher, and 5% said that they were expecting to save up to $25,000.
