le Helpful Content System Update (December 2022 update).

Google has started to push an update to its useful content system. This is the first major update to this update since August 2022. Google announced today that the update was available on December 6th. Although it started yesterday, December 5, it is already noticeable.

What’s new. The helpful content update (aka system), is now a global update that affects all languages, not just English. This will allow Google’s systems to detect lower-quality content that is intended for search engines but not for humans.

Google also stated that this system has been updated with additional signals to assist Google in identifying more content intended for search engines and not people.

Timing. Google stated that this update was only visible for a small number of queries on December 5, but it became more prominent on December 6, when it became more noticeable.

Rollout. Rollout. This rollout is similar to other Google updates and should take approximately two weeks.

Google wrote that it “released December 2022 helpful contents update, which improves and works across all content globally in every language.” It may take two weeks for the rollout to be complete.

The helpful content update is more. Google’s helpful update focuses on content that is primarily designed to rank well in search engines, rather than help or inform users.

Google explained that this algorithm update is intended to assist searchers in finding “high-quality content.” Google is looking to reward more useful and better-written content written for humans, and users.

Recent social media discussions have focused on content written to rank in search engines. This content is sometimes called “search engine-first” or “SEO Content.”

Searchers get frustrated when they find unhelpful websites that rank high in search engines because they were made to rank well.

Google’s new algorithm is designed to promote more useful websites that are human-friendly, rather than search engines.

Google stated that this was an ongoing effort to reduce low quality content and make it easier for users to search for content that feels authentic.

What to do in case you get hit. Google provides a list with questions to ask about your content. You can read the questions we posted here and, in an objective manner, determine if your content is up-to-date.

It can take several months for you to recover if this update hits you. However, you should do everything right and make any necessary changes to your content.

Google informed us that if a website is not seen as being unhelpful, then it may see positive changes as soon as the update is over. If there are areas that need improvement, however, a site may not experience a positive change. Always strive to make your site more useful.

Why we care. You can probably attribute any changes in visibility and ranking in Google search within the next two weeks, particularly if these were major changes. Take the time to read the Google advice and make the changes necessary. Then, you can expect a recovery over the next few months.

We hope that you all benefit from this update. If not, we hope you can recover quickly.
