le Search // Subscribe to Google Publishers for increased clicks and impressions

The Subscribe With Google feature could result in an increase in clicks and impressions for publishers who use it. This report is part of the Google Search Console performance report. This was implemented around December 6, 2022.

Google’s announcement. Google announced that Google had added a search result feature to Subscribe with Google sites on December 6, 2022. These websites could see an increase in clicks and impressions in the Search Performance Report.

The feature was originally created in March 2018. However, it is possible that Google did not accurately track the feature until many years later.

What’s Subscribe with Google? As we reported previously, Subscribe to Google is an underlying principle in the second objective of fostering sustainable business models for publishers. It is our goal to make it easy for users to subscribe, especially on mobile. Subscriptions can be purchased for Google account holders who have payment information. Subscriptions can then be purchased using the user’s Google credentials. Publishers will receive subscriber information.

Why we care. This could be the reason you have seen an increase in clicks and impressions in the Search Console performance reports on December 6th or later. If you used the Subscribe with Google feature to get this information, it may be the cause. It is important to understand the cause of an increase in clicks or decreases in impressions, but not other metrics like traffic or conversions. This is likely a reporting update and not a feature change that would lead to more traffic and conversions.

However, Google’s above wording is a little confusing.
