le Search Console launches new Merchant Center reports

Google Search console has launched new reports in the Shopping tab listings with a deeper integration with Google Merchant Center. Google has released two new reports. One shows issues that may be preventing your products from showing up in the Google Shopping Tab, and the second shows increases or decreases of clicks and rankings for your products on Google Search.

Google has announced that these reports will be released gradually over the coming weeks.

Report on issues. Google Search Console has added a new Shopping Tab Listing Issues Report that will alert merchants if products are not appearing in the Shopping Tab due to issues. Google Merchant Center provides similar information, but now it can also be seen in Search Console.

This is the report.

Reports on visibility and opportunity. Google’s second report in Search Console shows changes to your product’s visibility on Google Search and “opportunities to improve visibility” within Google Search. Google stated, “The second enhancement gives merchants the opportunity to improve rankings and increase clicks on Google.”

This is how a report would look:

An upgrade. Google introduced the Shopping Tab Listing Section in Google Search Console last November. This section brought Merchant Center data into Search Console. This report is an update to the previous one, which brings even more data to Search Console from Merchant Center.

How to view these reports. Google stated that “to enable these enhancements in the Shopping tab Listing Report, you will have to associate your Search Console Property with a Merchant Center Account.” Any Search Console property owner who has admin rights on the Merchant Center account can easily create the association. All Search Console users will see the new experience once the association has been created.
