Google Bard has been updated with new features. One of them is the ability to check the answers provided by Bard using Google Search. Google has also developed extensions for Google Bard for Gmail Docs Drive Maps YouTube and Google Flights and Hotels. Bard’s Lens integration has been expanded to 40 new languages, and Bard upgraded their PaLM2 model in order to make it more powerful.

Google has updated its Google It button in Bard so that users can “more easily check their answers”, Google stated. The improvement is only available in English for now. However, Google said that this was a result of “work by Google Research and Google DeepMind.”

Bard will evaluate the content on the internet to support the answer you Google in Bard. You can click on the highlighted phrases to learn more about information that supports or contradicts a Bard statement.

Google stated that the links in this feature were content found through Google Search, and does not imply that these sources influenced Bard’s original response.

Bard extensions

Google has released extensions for Bard that are specific to Google’s products, including Gmail Docs Drive YouTube Maps Google Flights, Google Hotels and Google Flights. Bard can ask questions in your emails, look up flights with Google Flights, find hotels nearby using Google Hotels, and show you videos and directions.

Google gave an example with a GIF that demonstrates it: “For instance, if you are planning a trip, you can ask Bard for dates that will work for all of your contacts from Gmail. You can also look up flight and hotel info, get directions to the airport using Google Maps, and watch YouTube videos about things to do at the Grand Canyon — all in one conversation.”

Continue sharing conversations

Bard lets you share the links to your conversations so that your friends can continue your conversation from where you left it. Click on the share icon and you will be able to send a link to your Bard chat. You can then continue this conversation to ask Bard additional questions.

Expanding Lens Features to More

Google has also expanded some of the Bard features into more languages. Google says it will “expand access to existing English language features , such as the capability to upload images using Google Lens, receive Search images in response, and modify Bard’s responses to more than forty supported languages.”

Bard is smarter

Google has said that the PaLM2 model, which they improved, makes Bard more intelligent, capable and useful. Google announced that they have updated their ” paLM 2 model, our most powerful yet.”

Based on your feedback, Google has applied the latest reinforcement learning techniques to train Bard to be more intuitive. Bard now has the ability to respond more accurately and with greater quality, regardless of whether you are looking to work together on something creative or begin in one language, and then continue in another 40+ languages.
