Webmaster Tools’ disavow links tool is being discontinued //
Bing’s disavow link tool will be removed from Bing Webmaster Tools in October 2023. Bing will be removing its disavow link feature and API, Fabrice Candel from Microsoft said.
Why remove it? Fabrice Canel said that it was no longer necessary that Bing Search algorithms were great at determining which links to count, and which to ignore. Fabrice Canel said: “Our technology has changed along with the times.” He said:
“We have heavily invested in developing and improving artificial intelligence capabilities that enable us to better understand context, intent, and the trustworthiness of links as well as their authority and reliability.” We can distinguish between natural and non-natural links and ignore or discount them without affecting the first.
Bing introduced the disavow feature back in June 2012. We questioned the reason for Bing’s addition at the time. Fabrice Canel explained that it was “a way for webmasters” to let us know which inbound links were not relevant or of high quality.
Bing backlinks Report Microsoft has confirmed that the Bing Webmaster Tools Backlink Report will not be going away. Fabrice Canel, in a blog post, wrote: “We will continue providing the Bing Webmaster Tools Backlink Report which displays data on all websites and not just yours.”
Why we care. Stop disavowing your links from Bing Search, and possibly Google Search. Google has been minimizing the need to delete links since a long time. If you want to create useful content instead, then do it.
