Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is everyone’s favorite Google product. It just released 12 new items and event-scoped dimensions and ecommerce metrics.
Why we care. Ecommerce retailers and advertisers will be able view and analyze details about products, services, and interactions. You will also be able see Items purchased by country. This shows you how many items were purchased in each country.
ICYMI, Google will end Universal Analytics July 1, 2023.
What’s New. The following dimensions and metrics are now available in the Explorations and the Data API.
- Item affiliation
- Variant of the item
- Add items to your cart
- Checked out
- Items selected from the list
- Promotional Items
- Items viewed
- Items viewed in the list
- Promotional Items
- Shipping cost
- Shipping tier
- Tax amount
Google has also renamed a number of metrics:
- Add to carts (previously known as Add-to-carts).
- Item-list click events (previously known as Item list clicks).
- Item-list view events (previously known as Item list views).
- Item view events (previously known as Item views).
- Items purchased (previously known as Item purchase quantity).
- Promotion clicks (previously known as Item promotion clicks).
- Promotion views (previously known as Item promotion views).
