Google has confirmed that the December 2022 helpful content update has been completed. It took 38 days for the update to roll out. It was initially visible on December 5th 2022, but it became apparent on December 6th. Then, it was noticed on January 12th 2023. Google posted that it was complete today, January 12.
Google’s helpful contents update is a sitewide signal. It targets websites that have a high volume of unhelpful or insatiable content. This content must be first written for search engines.
This update was the latest. The December 2022 helpful contents update (aka system), is a global update that affects all languages, not just English. This will allow Google’s systems to detect lower-quality content that is intended for search engines, but not for humans.
Google also stated that this system has been updated with additional signals to assist Google in identifying more content intended for search engines and not people.
