R.I.P. AMP
We revealed in 2022 what happened after Search Engine Land shut down AMP.
TL;DR – “We have experienced very little disruption in our traffic and have gained the benefit of having a better understanding of our audience analytics.”
Apart from the loss in pageviews to a few pieces that regularly spike for organic traffic, we didn’t notice any year-overyear traffic declines that could be attributed to AMP.
Search Engine Land closed AMP because of competition in Top Stories. As we explain in Search Engine Land has turned off AMP pages due to competition from Top Stories (after AMP wasn’t required for inclusion into Top Stories) as well as waning support from social media platforms.
