is the 21st anniversary of search marketing:

Google explains Google’s “core” algorithm

Andrey Lipattsev, Google’s 2016 Chief Engineer, explained the “core” algorithm.

This was after the announcement that Panda had been added to Google’s core algorithm. SEOs sought to understand the meaning of being part Google’s core algorithm.

It meant that the algorithm was consistent enough that Google doesn’t need to worry about it. It has been tested and works as it should. And it won’t require any changes in the future. As Lipattsev explained:

It’s less about the functionality which means that it doesn’t likely change much over time. It is more about how you perceive it in the context of algorithm. Is it still considered experimental? It is currently running for a while, and we don’t know how long it will continue. Or, is it more like PageRank? It is part of it. We will probably use it in certain contexts as part of the core algorithm.

Now that you have heard about the Google core updates, you should hopefully be able to better understand Google’s core algorithm.

You can read all about it here: Google Explains Why It Matters That You Are Part Of The Core Algorithm
