Google launches URL Inspection Tool API
Google launched a new API in 2022 under the Search Console APIs to the URL Inspection Tool. You can now programmatically access data and reports from the URL Inspection Tool using the new URL Inspection API.
Google’s URL Inspection Tool had a limit on the number of queries it could process per day, at 600 queries per minute.
Google has provided some use cases of the API:
- Both agencies and SEO tools can offer ongoing monitoring of important pages as well as single-page debugging options. You can check if there are any differences between Google-selected and user-declared canonicals or debug structured data issues on a group page.
- Developers of CMS and plugins can provide page-level insights or ongoing checks for pages. Monitoring changes over time on key pages can help identify issues and prioritize fixes.
A number of SEO professionals created new tools and shared scripts within a week. Established SEO crawlers then merged this data with their own insights. Aleyda Solis was rounded up in eight SEO tools to obtain Google Search Console URL Inspection API insight.
