Now you can customize SEO titles or descriptions for LinkedIn articles that are being published or already published.
Why we care. You can use LinkedIn to build your audience, for your business, or your clients. This is very basic SEO. It’s possible that you already had search in mind when creating your headlines. It is an option that allows you to optimize your content for search.
It works. Click on Write an article. Click on Settings under the Publishing Menu.
You’ll find two fields below:
- SEO title You only have 60 characters. LinkedIn states: “We’ll replace your article title with your SEO title for search engine results pages such as Google search.”
- SEO descriptionYou only have 160 characters. LinkedIn says “We will use the SEO description to replace the first few lines in your article on search engine results pages. We recommend using keywords and summarizing what you have written.
This is how it looks. Here’s an example:
Newsletters are more visible in search. LinkedIn is increasing the visibility of Newsletters in search. If a LinkedIn creator offers a newsletter it will be listed under their name and a Subscribe button. Here’s an example.
Soon, LinkedIn will offer scheduled articles. These articles will function in the same manner as scheduled posts.
