ter announces the demise of CoTweets
Twitter just announced that CoTweets will be ending. In their Help Center, they stated that the new feature, which was launched in July, would be ending by the 31st of January 2023.
A CoTweet refers to a tweet with two authors and their user names. A CoTweet is a tweet that appears on both the user’s profiles and is displayed to all their followers.
Twitter warned us. Twitter warned us about this when the CoTweet experiment went live.
Why we care. This was a temporary experiment that allowed brands and individuals to reach wider audiences. Twitter declared the feature unprofitable under Elon Musk, after it failed to meet expectations.
