AI Chat Testing Setting the Tone of the Responses //
Microsoft is currently testing a new setting to control “tone” in the new Bing AI chat and search experience. To tailor the responses from Bing AI chat, you can change the tone to be more creative, balanced or precise.
This is what it looks like. This is a screenshot that Mike Davidson, Corporate Vice- President, Design & Research, Microsoft, posted on Twitter:
It does. Mike Davidson stated that some users will be able to select a style that is more precise, balanced, or creative. Microsoft is currently testing this feature to a small group of people who were invited to try the Bing Chat AI feature.
Based on the description, Bing will reply with a more specific, factually correct, or balanced response that displays multiple sides of an argument or creative response, perhaps a little more outlandish.
Bing AI chat has more changes. Other than the tone setting experiment, I noticed some other updates to Bing AI Chat this weekend.
- Daily limit of 100 queries
- The limit does not include search queries
- The Edge sidebar limits have a fixed number
- Bing has a new tag system that helps to disambiguate certain parts of the query
- Tone of voice can change
- Relaxing certain constraints
- Inviting more people to try the new Bing AI chat
Why we care. It’s fascinating to see all the rapid changes made by Microsoft via its new Bing AI Chat. It is exciting to keep an eye on the changes Microsoft makes to improve its results and how it responds. This can help us learn how to leverage these features to increase traffic to our websites.
