It is the talk of town. There is so much information available on the subject that you might not understand what it all means and what implications it could have for your small business.
In true WordStream fashion I will simplify ChatGPT so that you can learn it:

What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT, a chatbot that uses artificial intelligence (AI), is a free, open-source informational resource. It has encyclopedic knowledge (similar to Wikipedia or Google), and comes as a chatbot. ChatGPT is a conversation-based informational resource that allows you to search for information on Google. It answers your questions based on what you have asked.
It is basically a chatbot that can be used to communicate with people. ChatGPT, according to its creator Open AI can answer follow-up questions and admit its mistakes. It can also challenge incorrect premises and reject inappropriate requests.

What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a tool that draws information from the internet, like Siri and Google. ChatGPT is a large language model technology that collects large amounts text data from the web: books, articles websites and blog posts.
The “GPT” is for generative pretraining transformer. It’s trained with large amounts of text data, and then uses the GPT-3 algorithm (also known as a Transformer algorithm) in order to generate text that looks like human conversation.
GPT-3 is a leader in learning parameter count, as you can see.
What’s ChatGPT used for exactly?
ChatGPT has been proven to be very useful because language and communication are used for everything. Some of ChatGPT’s many capabilities are:
- Write code, articles, marketing copy, stories, poems, emails, essays
- Ideas and Examples, Multiple Choice Questions
- Recommendproducts and services, movies, etc.
- Explain complex topics in layman’s terms
- Analyze Sentiment and Tone Based on Punctuation, Words, and Phrases

- Search Data sets and job openings
- More: The list is constantly growing
The implications for any industry are quite overwhelming, even if the above is a mere start. The one that we are focusing on is digital advertisement.
ChatGPT Limitations
This was inevitable. ChatGPT cannot replace, well, anyone: It isn’t a marketing consultant or accountant, lawyer, plumber or lawyer. Although it is an advanced technology, ChatGPT is still in its early stages. It does not offer 100% accuracy guarantee like any other computer, AI Tool or machine learning technology.
It’s just a computer that can combine and summarize data. However, other than what you tell, it doesn’t have the complete context of your life, business, and house to give 100% reliable and relevant answers.

ChatGPT’s unique capabilities make it a great tool for marketing.
Let’s look at some of the most effective ways ChatGPT can be used for marketing.
1. Ask for recommendations on marketing strategies
Are you looking for the best ways of promoting your business? ChatGPT can help you. The more specific you are, the better. Instead of asking about the best marketing strategies ask about the best marketing strategies to local businesses .

2. Marketing tool recommendations
ChatGPT can be used as a tool by itself. It can even be used to perform keyword research.

It’s not bad. There are many accurate statements there. For example, it allows users to enter a primary keyword phrase or keyword related to their business. They will then receive a list with related keywords, their respective search volume and competition and estimated CPC data. But there are also some outdated features.
3. Write copy for your marketing materials
ChatGPT can help you create copy for any marketing collateral. This includes emails, blog posts and product descriptions. Ask it to:
- Create the content
- Modify existing content to suit a specific tone, such as to make it more engaging for a certain persona or to make the material more negative.
- Enhance existing content to achieve a goal (SEO).
It is possible to write a blog post, but it would be a lot of work. Instead, you might want to request an outline.

This is a great example of how to use the output only as a starting point. This is too much text to use in a promotional email.

4. Campaign structure

ChatGPT can be used in many ways to generate ideas for blog posts, guides and whitepapers. ChatGPT can help you find post ideas, research topics, and curate top articles. It can also simplify complex concepts for you, so that you can share it with your readers.

7. Analytics & reporting
GPT is able to analyze data and identify patterns and trends in data. This allows you to make data-driven data decisions. It can be used to identify the metrics you should measure in order to establish goals. You can also find formulas, regular expressions and spreadsheet shortcuts.
This feature is still very basic. For your PPC reporting, you should still use tools such as Google Data Studio (now Looker Studio), Google Analytics, and Google Ads.
Google Ads also has its own AI features, such as the Insights or Recommendations tools. Both should be taken with caution!
8. Market research
Your target audience can be a moving target. It’s not enough to identify who they are. ChatGPT can help you identify segments and personas in your target audience. You can also ask ChatGPT to create a poll that you can send to collect information. You can also give it audience data to interpret.

Chat is a great way to engage customers and collect feedback. Chat GPT can help you get prompts and answers to your questions!
