is the day in search marketing history: March 7, 2007 //
Google increases landing page load time to Quality Score
Google AdWords added a new Quality Score to its 2008 quality score: landing page load speed.
Google stated that they did this because of two reasons.
Users have a better experience if landing pages load quickly. Users won’t get the information they need if there are multiple redirects or slow servers. Users are more likely not to return to landing pages that load slowly. This can impact your conversion rate.
– In AdWords Landing page loading time will soon be included in Quality Score
What did Google consider too slow? Google spoke in a vague manner, telling Search Engine Land that it was not familiar with the situation.
- Advertisers with slow landing pages should be encouraged to speed up their websites. We can’t give an exact time that a site should take to load, as we adjust for differences in load times between countries and regions.
It’s all here in Load time Confirmed as AdWords Quality score & New category exclusion Feature.
