Image Creator now available in Bing Chat
Bing Chat now integrates with the Image Creator tool, allowing you to ask Bing Chat for images. Yusuf Mehdi (Corporate Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft), stated that “Bing Image Maker, new AI-powered visual stories and updated Knowledge cards” are now available to the new Bing and Edge preview.
This is how it looks. This is how it looks:
It works this way: Bing Image Creator can be used to create images by simply entering text into Bing chat. You can also ask Bing to create images from other visual content. Microsoft claimed that this was powered by the OpenAI DALLE model.
Microsoft Edge will now have Bing Image Creator preview. This makes it the only browser that has an AI-powered image generator. Microsoft said that you can use Bing Image Creator in Edge by clicking the Bing Image Creator icon on the sidebar. This will create your image, or invoke Bing chat from Edge.
This feature requires you to be in “creative mode” within Bing Chat. However, when I tried it, Bing said that I could not create an image of three robots sitting at desktop computers. Images are not supported by the chatbox.
It is possible that this feature is still being developed. I will continue to try and give it more time. Bing stated that the Bing Image Creator integration into Bing chat will start to roll out to Bing preview customers on desktop and mobile, starting today. The preview experience for Image Creator is now available at .bing.com/create to Bing users worldwide in English. Over time, we will expand our language support.
This feature is available in Edge. This feature is also available in Edge Sidebar. Click the Bing Image Creator icon to create your image, or invoke Bing chat in Edge.
Stories and knowledge cards. Microsoft Bing also announced changes to visual stories, knowledge cards and more.
- Stories is an AI-powered visual summary you can click through for more information about the topic. Stories offer a more engaging and interactive way to search for and interact with content. They include images and videos that can be viewed quickly.
- Knowledge Cards 2.0, an AI-powered infographic-inspired experience, provides key information and fun facts at a glance. This version has been updated with interactive, dynamic content such as charts, graphs and timelines.
Why we care. MidJourney, along with other AI tools like the DALLE model by OpenAI, is an excellent and incredible tool for creating images. It is now easier to use these AI models for image creation with Bing Chat.
These advances are so much fun to play with and watch.
