le announces new validations of ad accounts names

Starting in June 2023 new Google Ads account names will not be able include a URL.

What’s changed. If a URL appears in the descriptive_name section of a Google Ads account created through the Google Ads API, or an existing Google Ads Account updated, the operation will fail if an ACTION_NOT_PERMITTED message is generated. The descriptive_name fields of existing accounts will not be affected by this change.

Why we care. It is important to adhere to the new naming conventions to maintain a seamless advertising experience. Adhering to these new rules will help advertisers avoid errors during the account creation or update process. This will ensure a smoother setup, prevent delays when launching campaigns and foster a more consistent and organized naming convention.
