pot March 2023 releases: the manager’s guide

HubSpot has released a number of new products in March, including the generative AI Content Assistant as well as ChatSpot Alpha. These include tracking pop-up CTAs for campaigns and adding customer journey data.

Managers: Here are the latest HubSpot updates for you.

Generative AI helps you create content faster and accomplish simple tasks more quickly.

The mantra of 2023 seems to be ‘doing more with less’. You are likely to be asked to create and run more campaigns, do more reporting, with a smaller staff than last year.

HubSpot’s new AI-based content assistant (beta). helps your team create content ideas, drafts, and outlines for blogs, landing page, emails, and other content, without having to leave HubSpot.

HubSpot’s ChatSpot Tool, which combines ChatGPT with your HubSpot Portal’s data and features, can also be used to accomplish other tasks, such as status updates, writing follow-up email, and finding and creating reports. ChatSpot, which is still in beta, will improve over time with the help of early adopters. New features will be released based upon user feedback.

Campaign Tools now includes and tracks pop-ups

Use banners and pop-ups that contain popup CTAs to direct users to HubSpot pages or external websites.

These new CTAs can be found in the Campaigns Tool as “CTAs Beta”. The original CTAs were labeled with “Calls to Action” and “CTAs Legacy” when created.

Integrate event data to improve customer journeys

You can get a more complete view of the customer journey by integrating event data into the Customer Experience Analytics that we discussed in November. These reports have now been released.

Segment records “more/less than x days ago” in the object index record pages

You can now view and save more accurate portions of your records using the new “is greater/less than [x] day ago” filter on , the main object index record page.

Create a filter to show only contact records that were created within the last 7 days. Save this view so you can easily return to it.

Create multiple Knowledge Bases for different audiences

Segment knowledge base content with ease and security using Create Multiple Knowledge Bases. Prior to this, dividing content into sections for internal users, clients and the general public was done by using lists, and assigning permissions on an article-by-article basis. This process was hard to maintain, and it often led to emails being sent by mistake to contacts.

You can now create five different knowledge bases to cater for different types of users, brands, or products. This makes the search function more accurate for each audience and less overwhelming.

Enable faster blog customizations using drag-and-drop editing modules

Drag and drop modules in the rich text area of your blog post when editing your posts to avoid ugly hacks or time-consuming developer requests.

This feature allows your team to create more blog posts with no custom development.

Lists can be randomly split for A/B testing

Last Month released random samples to Lists, which helped eliminate the need for manual spreadsheet exports or imports.

The beta release of create random splittings in Lists for this month will allow you to segment your HubSpot lists quickly and easily without the need for complicated math equations.

Expiration dates can inspire action, improve security and keep your portal tidy.

Use the new date expiration in the file manager in order to send files automatically to the trash at a specific time and date.

These are not the same as the Sales tool documents, where you can delete files and still keep the analytics about who has viewed them, how long they were viewed, etc.

Use task due dates to calculate the number of business days in a workflow.

When setting due dates for tasks and reminders, now only counts working days.

Prior to this update, some tasks were due at the weekend. This required manual updates, or tasks that were incorrectly reported as overdue. This update can also improve adoption and focus on tasks. It will ensure that your teams are able to respond quickly to important work, such as lead following-up.

User Records allows you to view and edit user records easily

New User Records (beta version) allows admins to make sure that your team is using the right first and last name, permissions, and other settings.

In future releases, the user record should be expanded to a full object, eliminating tedious workarounds like creating contact records for each employee in order to enroll them into workflows for internal communication, and streamlining employee onboarding.

Expanded property validation reduces manual data cleaning

property validity includes new custom text, date and number picker properties that help to ensure data is entered correctly. This release encourages better data quality for accurate reporting and decision-making.
