le UA historical data is available until July 1, 2020 //
There is good news for those who have not yet exported their Google UA data. Data collection for Universal Analytics will cease on July 1, 2023. You will still be able to view and export the data that was collected prior to this date, until July 1, 2020.
After Sunset Consider the following when planning your GA4 Migration.
- Users will be able to view historical data and reports on the user interface after sunset, but not edit them.
- You can also export your data as described in the solutions. After the property turndown has occurred, there will not be any new data processed and no metrics or reports will be updated with data post-sunset.
- Google Ads and third-party integrations will not receive any data on bids, audiences, or conversions.
- Existing Universal Analytics 360 customers will be able create Universal Analytics properties that are standard and upgrade them to 360 in order to continue processing data.
Dig deeper. Google Analytics Help has more information about milestones for Analytics 360, GA4, and UA.
Why do we care? Due to the discontinuation, advertisers will need to upgrade to Google Analytics 4 which has more advanced features such as cross-device tracking and machine learning. Remember to export all your historical data prior to July 1, 2024, when you will lose access.
