ads appear in the new Google Search experience.

Google’s new search engine, New Google Search generative Experience, will feature search ads from day one.

At least for the time being, advertisers will not be able opt out of showing advertisements on the new experience. Google will closely monitor the performance of ads and user experiences during this phase of experimentation.

Google Search Ads. Google will display search advertisements as part of the new search experience. Ads will become a “native component” of Google Search according to Vidhya Shrinivasan , VP & GM, Google Ads.

All ads will be displayed in designated ad slots and positions, and will carry the sponsored advertisement label.

Google has said that it will continue testing and adapting ads to provide relevant and helpful results for users.

Ad tracking. Google has said that there will be no specific tracking to show advertisers if their ads are being clicked and impressions come from the old Google Search or the new Google Search. This may be a future feature. However, since this is still a labs version, traffic and visibility are limited, so tracking won’t be important for advertisers.

You cannot currently track clicks for Microsoft Advertising ads that appear in Bing Chat .

Why we care. You will want to know how your ads are performing on the new Google Search. However, as this is still an experimental feature, it’s not possible to track the differences between the old Google Search and the new Google Search.

Google has promised to continue monitoring, testing, adapting and changing to ensure that the ad experiences are beneficial to both searchers and advertisers.

Google will be presenting more information about AI to advertisers at the Google Marketing Live event, on May 23, 2019.
