le Chrome is soon to add six new APIs for measuring relevance and measuring the performance of web pages.

Chrome Stable will be updated with new APIs for measuring and assessing relevance. This initiative is led by Chrome. The move is planned for the third quarter 2023. Chrome Stable 115 will be the launch pad.

Announcing the APIs that will be available:

All users will be gradually rolled out the APIs. Chrome will closely monitor any issues to ensure seamless integration.

Why we care. Six new relevance and measurements APIs will provide tools for generating interest-based advertising and correlated ad views or clicks with conversions without using third-party cookies. This approach offers more privacy-focused methods of ad measurement and targeting, but it also prepares advertisers to a future in which third-party cookie technology may not be feasible.

User controls have been updated. The addition of advanced Ad Privacy controls is a major improvement. These controls give users a more granular control of the new APIs. They also provide an additional layer of privacy, and allow users to take full control of their browsing experience.

This is what the new user control may look like.

Open application dates. A registration process has been developed to handle the anticipated developer interest. Developers can begin applying for API access in June. Access will be granted to developers in August. This allows for a controlled, organized introduction of APIs to a wider developer community.

As indicated in the project’s timeline, “General Availability” (GA) means that these APIs are available as a default feature in Chrome. It is not possible to guarantee immediate availability across all Chrome browsers. The strategy of gradual rollout will allow users direct control over the activation.
