le Top Quality Store badge replaces Trusted Store badge
Google updated the badges that some merchants use to display their products in Google Search. They now say “Top Quality Store”, instead of the original badge “Trusted Store”.
Google announced that “We are updating the “Trusted Stores” badge so that now, when you score a high rating on your Scorecard for Shopping Experience the badge will read “Top Quality Store”.
No impact. Google stated that this is a simple name and title update and will not have an impact on anything. Google said that there is no need for you to do anything and that the update won’t affect your performance metrics.

More history. Google has been using the trusted store badges for many years and decided to slightly rename them. Google has not revealed the reason for the renaming, but you and I are free to speculate. We reported earlier about the Google Shopping Experience Scorecard, where Google stated that it would reward merchants who provide “excellent customer service” with a “boost in rankings,” “a badge” and “other rewards that will help consumers locate your business” within the Google Shopping Tab in Google Search.
The badge increases engagement. Google says that the badge is more likely to be clicked on by users.
How to earn a badge. Merchants are awarded the Trusted Store Badge based on metrics, such as shipping speed, shipping costs and return window, relative to their peers. In our previous coverage of this topic, we documented many of these metrics. Here is Google’s documentation.
Rings a Bell This trusted store badge rings a bell for you? Google used to offer a trusted store badge that was free for merchants about a decade ago. The old badge was for paid search ads, while the new one is for free listings.
Why do we care? It is worth gaining badges if you can. They will help generate more clicks for your listings. Does the slight name change of the badge affect click-through rates or not? Although I doubt it, you should still be aware of the change.
