osoft Ads launches UET Insights dashboard featuring new traffic data
Microsoft Ads is going to start collecting more data from websites through its Universal Event Tracking Tag. This will power UET Insights – a dashboard that will be launched in June for advertisers.
The dashboard. All data will be accessible in near-real time and will not be sampled. The dashboard will have the following metrics:
- Session counter.
- Popular Pages.
- Device Breakdown.
- Country Breakdown.
- Quick Backs (the total number of times a visitor navigated from one page to another, and then returned quickly to the previous page within the time period selected).
- Average Active Time.
Here is a sneak preview of the UET Insights Dashboard:
New data signal Additional website performance indicators captured by the UET tag will include:

Beginning June 29, Microsoft will automatically activate UET Insights for all UET tags. UET Insights is enabled by default for all newly created tags.
Opting out. Before UET Insights can be enabled:
- By June 26, you can opt out of the automatic upgrade by completing an opt-out form.
Once UET Insights has been enabled:
- To disable a tag, navigate to Tools and select UET tag. Select the pencil icon by hovering over UET Insights. A pop-up will appear, Modify your insights settings. Set the toggle off.
- Disable multiple tag: Select all tags and click Disable insights.
Why do we care? Microsoft claims that the goal is to improve targeting and help advertisers understand how users interact with ads. This new data will hopefully help advertisers increase ROI, drive more traffic, and convert more customers.
UET Tags. Originally launched on Bing Ads in 2014, the UET tag is used to power conversion tracking, automated bidding, and remarketing strategies for Microsoft Ads.
