le Search Console incorrectly shows mobile indexing for some sites
Around a week back, Google moved its sites from the last batch to mobile first indexing. However, some mobile-friendly websites still noticed that their sites were reported as having been crawled by desktop indexing. There is a bug that can cause some mobile-friendly sites to show incorrect indexing.
What Google said John Mueller, a Google employee, posted about this issue on Twitter just a few moments ago. John wrote: “It appears that we are also showing the incorrect mobile indexing status in Search Console for some sites, which is also a reporting problem on our part (and not related to mobile friendly).
How to check. Log in to Google Search Console and click the “Settings”, located on the left-hand sidebar. Then, look under the “about section” to check your indexing.
Why we care. If you’re worried after Google reports that your mobile-friendly sites were crawled with desktop indexing, then it could be a bug. You can check back in about a week to see if anything has changed.
