le Bard can now use the precise location of your device to provide more relevant local search results.

Google Bard now uses your device’s exact location to give you better local answers to your questions. A pop-up dialog box may appear when you visit Google Bard. It will read “To get better local results, you can choose to allow Bard to use your device’s exact location.”

This is the notice. You may see the following when you visit bard.google.com.

Another prompt may appear asking you to confirm whether you wish to share your location.

Better local results. Google says you will see “more relevant results about restaurants nearby and other things about your locality.” I tried it, and it did not work for me yet. It may still be rolling it out.

Why we care. Local search is an important driver of local business. Google Bard can drive more traffic to businesses if people search for places to get pizza, a haircut, a dentist, etc.

If you’re not sure, make sure that your clients have Business Profiles set up and try some searches to see how they differ from Google Search.
