Salesforce’s Summer Release brings a number of enhancements that will improve user experience, and save time by being more efficient. What good is an application that’s difficult to use, and requires a lot of time?
This edition includes enhancements to the admin, CRM and Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) as well as feature upgrades in Commerce.
Enhancements to CRM and Admin
These admin and CRM enhancements will help you customize your experience and find information faster, whether you are a Salesforce veteran or a newbie.
- Layout. Imagine reading a book where the words are jumbled up, making it almost impossible to understand. Salesforce was like that for many users, especially newbies. The new layout features consolidated phone numbers and address fields as well as elements that are spaced evenly to make it easier to read and navigate. You can also align fields horizontally to improve data visibility and user adoption.
-
App pages optimized. Users are able to customize and optimize app page, making the information more digestible and accessible for users. You and your team can find the information you need faster by maximizing and minimizing pages. This will save you time scrolling.
-
Gender-neutral salutations. It is important to honor all your customers. Salesforce has introduced gender-neutral greetings to better reflect your diverse customer base. The “Mx.” greeting is now available. This is an important step in making everyone feel valued and seen.
-
Customizable Dashboards The dashboard has long been a source of frustration for many users. Now, it can be customized to meet the needs of your customers by adding custom images and texts. You can also add up to 5 filters and customize your dashboard. This means that you can customize your workspace according to your preferences and needs, making it more efficient.
- Updated Calendar. This section has also been updated to include drag-and drop functionality to move events easily. There are also overlapping event tiles, and colored events to improve usability. Salesforce users have long requested updates to the calendar function. The upgrades are exciting as they increase productivity.
Account Engagement
Salesforce’s Account engagement, formerly Pardot has been updated to increase efficiency.
- Completing actions + external action. Triggering partner completion actions and external actions within the same setup. External actions used to have to be triggered through Engagement Studio. Now, you can use the Account Engagement platform, as well as third-party tools, to create an automated multi-touch experience, while creating operational efficiency between marketing systems. Imagine that a visitor fills out a form. Now you can automatically register the user via your webinar tool. Sending a text after completing the form can create a second automatic touch.
- Optimizer Tool. With the new Account Engagement optimizer tool, users can see at any given time how your tool and business units are performing. The tool can identify areas for improvement in your overall performance. This will create more efficient touchpoints with your customers. The tool can be used to identify the overuse and misuse of automation rules, which can cause a slowdown in the overall operation processes (which could delay important communications with your customers). Optimizer can surface potential risks for Account Engagement users, which will save you time by allowing you to fix automations instead of manually auditing the tool.
- Data Cloud. Account Engagement works now with Salesforce Data Cloud, formerly Salesforce CDP, to connect data sources and combine them into unified profiles of customers. Users of Account Engagement can now segment and personalize customer communications once unified profiles have been created. This will increase engagement and revenue.
Commerce upgrades include guest check-out enhancements
This release includes several significant updates to enhance the customer experience: an upgrade to the guest checkout, self-service reordering portal, Pay Now feature and saved payment methods.
- Guest Check-Out. This feature allows customers to browse anonymously and checkout, making shopping faster and less intrusive.
- Portal for self-service repeat orders. Saves time and effort by simplifying the process of placing repeated orders.
- Pay now: Allows businesses to send a URL to customers so that they can pay immediately. Imagine skipping the queue and going directly to the cashier.
- Saved Payment Methods. This feature allows for faster checkouts as it eliminates the need to enter payment information every time. This feature is similar to a digital wallet. However, you do not need to search for your credit card.
