flake and Nvidia partners to provide companies with generative AI applications //

Snowflake and Nvidia have formed a new partnership that will allow companies to create assistants AI trained on their data.

What does it do? Snowflake customers will receive GPU-accelerated computing from Nvidia, as well as its large language model foundation (LLM) called NeMo. Customers can combine this with their proprietary data to create LLMs that will be used for advanced generative AI such as chatbots and search.

AI in marketing automation: six use cases that can improve data quality

Why we care. The greatest weakness of generative AI is that it tends to fabricate facts. This is particularly true for systems such as ChatBot, Bing, and Bard that have been trained using extremely large datasets. To reduce the “hallucinations”, it is possible to train systems with smaller amounts of data. Nvidia’s NeMo Guardrails makes them less likely. Anything that increases data reliability is welcome.

In a press release, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that “Together Nvidia will and Snowflake create an AI Factory that helps enterprises transform their valuable data into customized generative AI models that power groundbreaking new applications – right from the cloud platforms that they use to operate their businesses.”

It’s not the first time that companies have been able to use generative AI this way. Microsoft released Azure AI Studio last month. It allows customers to create AI-powered apps, called copilots. These apps can be run as chatbots or in a variety of other ways.
