osoft requires verification from UK Financial Services advertisers
Microsoft will only allow UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA-authorized) advertisers to promote regulated financial products in the UK. This change is expected to take effect early in the year. To present Financial Promotion Ads, advertisers will need to show proof of authorisation by the UK FCA or indicate if they are either 1) a nonfinancial services advertiser that may target consumers looking for financial services or 2) government entities like authorities or regulators under “.gov.uk”.
Why do we care? You will need to verify your identity here.
Remember the following:
- These requirements are added to the Advertiser ID Verification requirements that Microsoft has set out as part of its safety precautions to protect advertisers, consumers, and publishers.
- This verification process is required in order to block ads from being served in the UK. However, the account will still function as before in respect of non-Financial Services Ads or in other markets.
