ok tests displaying links to Google Search Results //

TikTok has been testing the display of links to Google results on its internal search results page. Radu Oncescu noticed this and posted screenshots of this which we have embedded below.

What it looks. TikTok has added a Google logo-emblazoned link to its results pages. TikTok also has a disclaimer saying that it does not “endorse or take responsibility for Google search results”. This is the screenshot of Radu Oncescu from X.

Confirmed. Business Insider reported that a TikTok representative confirmed this information. “A TikTok spokeswoman confirmed the company was experimenting with third party integrations within the TikTok application, including a Google test.” The spokesperson confirmed that the feature is not an advertisement. It is being tested globally in several markets.

Business Insider reported that “A Google spokesperson stated the company has nothing more to say and declined to comment if there was any financial agreement between the companies as part the partnership.”

Why we care. Google may be testing a partnership to bring some of the search traffic from TikTok back to Google.

It is not clear if it is a Google-funded test or a full rollout.
