Google AdWords API launches

Google’s Google AdWords API was launched in 2005.

Google stated that API usage would be completely free but activity would be limited by a quota system. Higher activity would be permitted for those who have larger accounts and spend more on Google.

Google described AdWords API in as:

Developers can now create programs that directly interact with Google AdWords. Developers representing tech-savvy advertisers, as well as the ecosystem of third parties (SEMs (search engine marketers), agents and other online marketing professionals who manage large campaigns and multiple client accounts) can use the AdWords API.



Google News AdWords API

Google AdWords API enjoyed a successful run. Google did not inform developers who used the AdWords API that they needed to upgrade to the Google Ads API before April 27, 2022. This is the official date Google AdWords API will be deemed obsolete.
