is the 28th anniversary of search marketing:
Google experiments with featured snippets
In 2014, Google began answering complex questions at Google’s top search results by providing detailed answers (or solutions) from other websites.
Do you think that sounds like featured snippets to you? That’s because it should. It was.
Google has confirmed that featured snippets have been introduced in January 2014.. Although we don’t know when Google first tested it, Search Engine Land reported that the feature was available for search on January 14, 2014.
Although we didn’t know what these answers were, it was clear that this is what we were seeing. Google said that they were always trying new types of answers and didn’t have any more details at the moment.
