le Search Console Video Indexing Report gains video impressions overlay & sitemap filter //
Google’s video indexing report from Google Search console has received some improvements including a video impressions overlay, sitemap filter, and sitemap filter. Google declared that this was done in order to “help understand the performance and identify potential areas for improvement”.
What’s the video indexing report? The video indexing report will show you how many pages have one or more videos and how many pages could contain a video. Google stated that the report could help you to understand how your videos perform on Google and pinpoint areas for improvement.
This is what it looks like. This is a screenshot from the report I created for one of my sites using Google Search Console.
Video impression overlay. This report shows you how many video impressions were made each day over time. Google stated that the impressions are aggregated per page. This means that even if the same page appears in multiple search results pages (or in one Discover session), each appearance is considered an impression.
Google also pointed out that Search Console’s Search performance reports group video searches by property and not by URL. Google will count one impression even if multiple pages appear in the search result set. Google stated that the Search performance report could show lower impression counts than Video page indexing reports.
Here’s what it looks like
Sitemap filter. Google has also added a filter to show which videos Google indexed are also in the sitemap file. Google stated that the filter allows you to only show video pages in selected sitemaps. This will allow you to focus your attention on the most important video pages. This filter is applicable to all report features, including the chart, chart totals and issue list.
This filter is for you:
