new features for the GA4 home page
Google just announced four enhancements to the GA4 homepage.
- Welcome to the New Tutorial
- New banner at the top of Home page
- The Suggested section has been improved
- Do not ignore suggestions, insights and recommendations
What’s new. Google Analytics Help has more information about the new features.
Google Analytics’ Home page now includes a welcome tutorial. This tutorial will introduce users to the most important concepts and settings for their new property.
A new banner has been added to the top of Home page. Editors or Administrators using Google Ads with Google Analytics will see a banner entitled “Verify Your Google Ads Settings” at the very top. The banner lists the key tasks to be completed in order to bid on Google Analytics 4 data. Once all tasks have been marked as completed in Setup Assistant, the banner will disappear.
Improvements to the “Suggested For You” section. The section now shows cards that are popular in all Analytics properties, and cards that people return to frequently.
The thumbs-down button allows users to dismiss cards that are irrelevant in the “Suggested For You” or “Insights and recommendations” sections. Google Analytics will take this information and use it to curate the Home Page for users.
After clicking the thumbs-down button, Analytics removes the card from your Home page. The card will not appear again for 30 days. If users don’t submit the feedback form after clicking on the feedback button, then the card will stay visible for the rest of the session, but be removed from future sessions.
The Insights Hub allows users to access all insights and suggestions, even those that have been dismissed.
Open the setup assistant. GA4 now includes an action button on the bottom-right of every page. The number of tasks completed in Setup Assistant is revealed by hovering over the button. By clicking the button, the Setup Assistant opens and allows users to complete essential setup tasks.
Why do we care? Through the new GA4 Home Page enhancements, users can quickly grasp the essential concepts and settings by using the welcome tutorial. The integration of a Google Ads banner ensures that Google Ads data and Analytics are seamlessly connected. The “Suggested For You” section, which is now more tailored to user preferences, offers content that is tailored based on the user’s preferences.
Setup Assistant, which is easily accessible, helps users complete important setup tasks. These updates simplify the process of using Google Analytics data in order to optimize and inform advertising strategies.
