Chat improves its news questioning and reduces the number of no-response responses //
Microsoft Bing Chat has improved its ability to respond to news queries and reduce unnecessary searches. It also eliminated conversation triggers and returned no response to queries.
News answers. Bing wrote: “We’ve taken measures to help Bing provide better answers when you ask questions about the news.” Bing suggested we ask Bing Chart, “What are the top breaking news stories today?” I tried it and got stories about Theodore McCarrick – a recent top news story – a six year old being shot – a recent top news item – Clemson as a top choice for Casey Poe – also recent news – and some financial advice given by CNBC 30 minutes earlier.

Both tell different stories. Bing Chat’s top news box is better than Bard.
Other Bing Chat enhancements. Bing Chat has also been updated with:
- Formatting math formulas to make it easier to read
- Reduce the frequency with which Bing Chat ends a conversation
- Reduced duplication of searches
- Bing chat not responding to queries due to errors
Why do we care? Publishers of news may have begun to notice Bing Chat traffic. Bing Chat may increase traffic over time if it grows.
It’s exciting to see the rapid improvement of AI chat and AI search.
