w Facebook Reels features //
Facebook has introduced three new ways to find the short videos most relevant to you. It also added new controls that allow users to customize their video experience on Facebook.
Finding relevant Reels Facebook has made it easier for users to locate Reels in the app. This includes some changes to how they appear on Facebook Watch.
Facebook Watch now includes reels in the main navigation. This allows users to quickly access short-form videos, while also discovering creators, trends and content aligned with their interests. Users can also smoothly switch between long-form and reel videos when viewing videos on Facebook.
Facebook offers new ways to customize Reels. Facebook wants to give users more control of the reels that they see in the app. This is similar to the other personalization features on the platform. Two new methods are available:
- Show More, Show Less: Facebook wants reels that reflect users’ passions. This allows them to explore their current interests while also allowing them to discover interests, creators and communities they might enjoy in the future. The users can now choose to see more or fewer reels by selecting Show More or Show Less from the three-dots menu located at the bottom video player. The option will appear under reels and videos on the Watch feed. Show More will temporarily boost the ranking of a reel and similar reels. Show Less temporarily lowers its ranking score. Facebook can improve the ranking of reels by collecting user feedback.
- Contextual Labels: Facebook has introduced new labels to the Reels player in order to explain why certain reels are being viewed by users — for example, because they were liked by a friend.

Why do we care? By using the platform’s intelligent labeling system and contextual ranking system, advertisers can target users who share similar interests to their product or brand, leading to more meaningful interactions, and possibly higher conversion rates. Reels’ integration within the Facebook app, along with its navigation system, ensures that users will continue to pay attention. This makes it a great channel for advertisers who want maximum visibility.
